India’s Push for Innovation

The Government of India continues to strengthen its innovation ecosystem through flagship programs like Startup India, BIRAC, MeitY TIDE, DST, and AIM (Atal Innovation Mission).
The DPIIT has recognised 1,80,683 startups, enabling over 20 lakh direct jobs across 55+ sectors.
Under the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS), funding of ₹ 522.42 crore has been approved for 2,942 startups, while ₹ 23,679 crore has been invested into 1,282 startups through the Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS).
Additionally, the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups (CGSS) has supported 289 loans worth ₹ 667.85 crore.

Government’s Vision for Enterprise Growth

The Indian government disburses ₹ 25,000 + crore annually under various subsidy programs designed to empower entrepreneurs and MSMEs.

Under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), between FY 2021–22 and October 2025, 5,45,572 projects have been sanctioned with loans worth ₹ 46,191.69 crore, and margin money subsidies of ₹ 12,913.86 crore disbursed to 3,86,480 enterprises.

Other major subsidy programs, MUDRA, Stand-Up India, Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (CLCSS), and SCLCSS have collectively impacted thousands of MSMEs with up to 35% capital subsidies and soft loans for modernization and growth.

Additionally, over 1,06,000 + SC/ST entrepreneurs have been supported through the National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) with procurement value exceeding ₹ 1,600 crore.
